The Heavy Equipment and Transport Technology curriculum is designed to prepare individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to service, troubleshoot, and repair medium and heavy duty vehicles.
The course work includes the purpose, construction features, and principles of operation of medium and heavy duty vehicles.
When you graduate, you should qualify for entry-level employment opportunities in a dealership, fleet shop, or independent garage as a technician. Graduates that have met the work experience requirement should also be prepared to take the ASE certification exam.
Course work in the Recreational Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Technology program is designed to prepare individuals to work as Recreational Vehicle Maintenance Technicians. Upon completion of coursework, graduates should qualify for employment as entry-level recreational vehicle service technicians, service writers, parts counter persons, service managers, factory field technicians, or factory service representatives.
The Small Engine and Equipment Repair curriculum is designed to prepare individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to service, troubleshoot, and repair small engine-powered equipment. Shop experience is used to provide the skills to service, repair, or rebuild small engines.
You will graduate with a diploma and should qualify for employment as small engine mechanics at small engine service and repair or rental shops, outdoor power equipment dealers, recreational vehicle dealers, and landscaping and grounds maintenance service centers. Other employment may be available in the agriculture and construction industry.
